The IWWG Task Group Landfill Aeration was created during the 3rd Intercontinental Landfill Research Symposium held in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. The IWWG set up a working group on the topic of landfill aeration to bring together international perspectives and expertise in the area in order to better define the technology and to disseminate experiences to the public. Specific objectives of the group include:

  • Exchange of information between  group members

  • Preparation of joint publications and joint workshops

  • Development of procedures and standards for aeration, including analytical programs

  • Joint research projects

 

The second meeting of the group was held during the 2005 Sardinia Landfill Symposium. A picture of the members in attendance is shown above.
